The Food & Markets Department at NRI brings together world-leading expertise in food systems, value chains, and market dynamics. Our interdisciplinary team combines social and natural scientists working across the food system from production to consumption, with particular focus on post-harvest systems, food safety, trade, and sustainable market development in low and middle-income countries.

The Centre addresses urgent challenges in global food systems through interdisciplinary research. Our work focuses on ensuring universal access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food produced through sustainable and ethical practices.
