Teaching and training have always been a major part of NRI's work. On average, NRI staff make some 1000 working visits a year to around 80 countries, disseminating and collecting information on many aspects of the sustainable development of natural resources. This constantly-updated field experience feeds into NRI's postgraduate teaching and research programmes, and into its professional development courses, making them even more relevant and topical.
When NRI became part of the University of Greenwich in 1996, we had the opportunity to develop a portfolio of taught courses but we also offer a series of stand-alone short courses, for people wishing to undertake continuing professional development, or just wanting to learn about a new subject or area of study. Many of the short courses carry a University validation, and, as such, can be used to acquire a portfolio towards an academic qualification.
You can see a list of our short courses here. Alternatively, you can search the list of short courses by theme: Postharvest and Food Safety; Environmental Management, Horticulture and Packaging. We are also happy to discuss bespoke courses, relating to any areas of NRI's research and teaching.
