Research work under this theme is very closely integrated with consultancy and advisory work on the same topics.
A major sub-theme for research is ethical trade (see the web-page for NRI's Natural Resources and Ethical Trade Programme), on which NRI staff have written key publications.
Another sub-theme is finance, where NRI staff are pioneering new analytical approaches to micro-finance, and new instruments for financing commodity trade.
