Registration information

We invite you to register your interest in tropical root and tuber crops. We are using this to develop and consolidate an international "Community of Practice" tightly associated with the International Society for Tropical Root Crops which is working to develop tropical root and tuber crops (TRCs) to achieve developmental outcomes. Currently over 300 scientists and researchers involved in root and tuber crops have signed up from African, Caribbean, Pacific, Americas, Asia and Europe.

There are several means by which the Sustainability of the action is being secured:

  • ISTRC has been an active Society for the past 40 years, sustained by its members – this provides a sustainable and credible platform for the Community of Practice.
  • The ISTRC also contributes to improved awareness of the policy context into which science and technology advances on tropical root and tuber crops have to be made. Without funding it is challenging to undertake significant research that will have wider economic and social benefits. With this better awareness, there is increased probability of national governments and donors investing in issues that are going to have measurable impact.
