Junior Davis
Development economist. 12 years' experience in international agricultural,
regulatory and development economics, specializing in agricultural
policy analysis, rural development, rural non-farm economy, food
policy, utility regulation, enterprise development, and regional
growth. Experience in: policy development and implementation; public-private
partnerships; and training for capacity building. Long-term experience
in Bulgaria. Short-term missions in Brazil, Kenya, Jamaica, and
ten countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Good working knowledge
of French and Russian.
Ana Marr - (A.Marr@gre.ac.uk)
Economist, with over 15 years of policy-making research and consultancy
experience in economic and financial-market development, pro-poor
credit, microfinance, business development services, warehouse receipt
systems, poverty reduction, social capital, financial services for
enterprise development, rural-urban linkages, investment in rural
development, private capital flows, foreign direct investment and
international trade. Extensive overseas experience includes 6 years
with Central Bank of Peru, 2 years in Thailand, and also Afghanistan,
Armenia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Colombia, Romania, Tanzania
and Zimbabwe. Strong publications record. Extensive work on project
conception, formulation and implementation including a 3-year DFID-funded
project on financial markets for the poor and a 3-year ESRC-funded
project on microfinance and poverty reduction.
Felicity Proctor
Rural development specialist. 30 years of international development
experience. Responsible for leading NRI's work on technical, institutional
and policy issues for pro-poor development. Specific experience:
rural and agriculture sector policy and planning; multi-sectoral
coordination for rural poverty reduction, rural non-farm economy,
rural-urban linkages and local economic development; rural education;
agricultural diversification and international horticulture trade;
food marketing systems. Leadership and management of multi-sectoral
teams. Recently working in senior advisory positions in bilateral
and international agencies. Country work experience in Africa, Caribbean,
Asia.
Julian Quan - (J.F.Quan@gre.ac.uk)
Social and political scientist. 20 years international development
experience in Africa and Latin America, especially Brazil. Specialist
expertise in land tenure, rural development, and natural resource
and environment management. For past five years was land tenure/policy
adviser for DFID, playing a key role in strengthening the poverty/livelihoods
focus and coherence of global efforts to secure land access for
the poor. Native English speaker; fluent Portuguese; competent French
and Spanish.
