Fisheries play a key role in the
livelihoods of millions of people in developing countries. The principal
objective of this study was to increase our knowledge and understanding
of the relationship between the achievement of sustainable development
outcomes -more particularly the key contribution that fisheries
can make to pro-poor growth- and current processes related to fisheries
trade liberalisation
The documents presented here form part of a wider
study on “Policy Research – Implications of Liberalization
of Fish Trade for developing Countries”, comprising five trade
issues background papers and five country case studies.
