| . | Use approved suppliers | ||
| . | Use only pesticides in a branded container, not a 'market mix' | ||
| . | Use the most appropriate pesticide - with the least residual and environmental effect | ||
| . | Check national laws and legislation | ||
| . | Take care to protect the health of humans, animals, plants and the environment | ||
| . | Avoid polluting water | ||
| . | Use protective clothing | ||
| . | Always follow the manufacturers' instructions | ||
| . | Make up pesticide to correct dilution for the crop - never diverge from this | ||
| . | Do not mix two different pesticides together unless the label says it can be done | ||
| . | Wash the container for applying the pesticide after use | ||
| . | Do not use pesticides after their expiry date | ||
| . | Do not apply after the latest time of application or harvest interval for the crop | ||
| . | Do not apply more than the maximum permitted number of doses | ||
| . | Always wash hands after using pesticides | ||
| . | Keep pesticides in a lockable store - sited to avoid pollution and reduce fire hazards (many pesticides are flammable) | ||
